The first step in this journey was their facility in South Shields, collaborating with SCJ Renewables to install a cutting-edge solar PV system in line with British Engines’ broader sustainable goals.
SCJ Renewables fitted a 1.512 MWp system, compromising of 2,500 panels and capable of generating an estimated 1,300,000 kWh of energy per year – enough to power over 600 homes in the UK.
Alongside its energy generation, it brings significant environmental benefit with savings of an estimated 500,000 kg of Co2 emissions each year.
SCJ’s installation team worked alongside the Rotary Power team to navigate the complexity of integrating the solar infrastructure into an active manufacturing site.

The Operating and Maintenance Package is a dedicated on-site service, delivering continuous system monitoring, preventative maintenance, and rapid response support to ensure the solar installation operates at peak efficiency throughout its lifetime.
