They can carry out vehicle defect rectification as well as planned maintenance including booking, preparing and presenting vehicles and/or trailers for annual DVSA testing at our own Authorised Testing Facility. The Test Centre is based at the Northumberland Business Park West, Cramlington in Northumberland.

Fergusons are a family owned business and has at its helm Alan Ferguson OBE. The Ferguson family also own Fergusons Transport and have been in the business since 1926.

The Project

Solar PV TIC 29.7kW DNC 25.2kW
This building was a lot smaller than the neighbouring one and we only had 28kW to play with from the DNO. We tried FERGY, MOT and even SPACE the symmetry never looked right. We ended up with the Lorry design after many days of scratching our heads trying to think of something that would fit. The Wheels are two meters in diameter and are constructed from stainless steel and a rap to give the wheel and tire effect.

Energy Harvest/Performance

Performance is always a key factor. We used Enphase Microinverters for this project along with SolarWorld 260 Polys, 250 Mono Black and JA 285 Mono. The mix of sizes was decided for the simple reason they allowed symmetry in the design.

We chose to use Van der Valk for the mounting system allowing us to install efficiently.
The annual generation was estimated to be 23,151 kWh but we would expect it to do more in the region of 25,000 kWh.

Reliability

System downtime had to be minimal, so an Enphase system was selected based on its reliability, availability and 20 year warranty. The electrical design was done using AMTEC.

Result

  • Clients energy bills reduced
  • 231,699 kg CO2 to be saved over 20 years
  • Marketing inbuilt into the design
  • Painless Client Journey Start to Finish
  • Income from FIT and Export Tariffs
